- Basic official recreational qualification
Following the approval of Royal Decree 238/2019, the Navigation License enables:

Title

Nautical medical certificate: what it consists of and how to get it
The nautical medical certificate guarantees that the student does not suffer any limitations that are incompatible with the government of recreational boats, in a similar way to the psychotechnical exam that all drivers must pass before obtaining a driving license.
To achieve this, you must make an appointment at a Driver Recognition Center, where certain tests will be performed, especially related to visual ability and reflexes.

This price includes the theory and practice part in 6 hours. This price also includes mandatory fees.
Do I have to take an exam to obtain a navigation license?

Are Title and Navigation License the same?
The Navigation License and the “Titulín” are not exactly the same, but they are very similar. The "Titulín" was a Federal Authorization granted by the sailing and motorboating federations, and allowed sailing in small boats with certain limitations regarding engine power. However, with the entry into force of Royal Decree 875/2014, the "Titulín" stopped being issued and was replaced by the Navigation License.
Although the Navigation License has some different powers from those of the "Titulín", both are permits with fewer limitations than other recreational nautical qualifications.
With the Navigation License you can govern any jet ski without power restrictions, as with boats.
When does the navigation license expire?
The navigation license, unlike other nautical titles, is the only official title that does not expire.
What is the navigation license for?
The navigation license in Spain is a document that certifies that a person has successfully completed a basic navigation training course. This license is granted to those who want to sail pleasure boats up to 6 meters in length and with an engine power of up to 15 HP.
The navigation license allows its holder to navigate in inland and coastal waters, as long as the length and power limitations mentioned above are respected. In addition, it also allows the holder to rent and drive jet skis.
It is important to note that the navigation license is not the same as the pleasure boat skipper title (PER), which allows larger and more powerful boats to navigate in inland and coastal waters. However, the navigation license is an ideal option for those who want to start sailing and enjoy water activities in small, simple boats.
In which countries can I navigate with the navigation license?
With the navigation license you will be able to navigate in other countries outside of Spain, as long as that country recognizes the validity of the recreational title. Normally, most European countries recognize this title but there may be exceptions.
What is necessary to navigate a boat?
To navigate a boat you need an official title, depending on the characteristics of the boat it can range from the Navigation License, which is the most basic title, to PER, which is a more advanced title.
What boats can I take with the Navigation License?
To sail in boats with a Navigation License, it is required that it be a boat of no more than 6 meters in length and with a motor with unlimited maximum power according to the manufacturer. If what we want is to sail with a sailing boat, the maximum length will be 6 meters.
Does the navigation license validate the PNB or PER agenda?
The training received in the Navigation License course does not validate any syllabus or subject for other qualifications, unlike what happens with the PNB and the PER, which share some content and do allow part of it to be validated. If you obtain the Navigation License and later decide to obtain a higher qualification, such as the Basic Pattern or the Recreational Pattern, you will have to complete the course and practices corresponding to that qualification in its entirety.
