Course content

Basic astronomical navigation

Position of the sun, cardinal points, advanced navigation chart and coastal crossing planning up to 12 miles.

Applied Meteorology

Interpretation of meteorological reports, wind systems, fronts and safety decision-making in navigation.

Sail and rigging

Fundamentals of sailing navigation, types of rigging, basic maneuvers and specific regulations for sailing vessels.

Safety at sea

Safety equipment for vessels up to 15 m, emergency procedures and GMDSS distress signals.

ROCA Radiocommunications (12 h)

Marine VHF operation, channel 16, DSC, basic GMDSS and communication procedures in emergency situations.

This is the bridging course that allows you to obtain the PER (Recreational Skipper's License) if you already have the PNB (Basic Navigation License). You only study the exclusive units: 5 topics and an 18-question exam instead of 50. The practical training is identical to that of the standard PER.
