Nautical medical certificate: what it consists of and how to get it
The nautical medical certificate is a mandatory requirement for obtaining the PER (Recreational Skipper's License). It serves to certify that there are no limitations incompatible with operating recreational vessels, similar to the medical examination required for a driver's license.
To obtain it, you simply need to make an appointment at a Driver Assessment Center (CRC). There, they will perform simple tests (vision, hearing, and reflexes) and, if everything is correct, they will give you the certificate to present when processing your license.

Once you have enrolled in the course, you will receive access keys to the virtual classroom, where you will find all the necessary material for your training. You will have access to the notes and the complete syllabus, as well as tests similar to those of the official exam so that you can practice and prepare with confidence.

How long will it take to get the PER online?
The duration of the course directly depends on how many hours you can devote to studying the syllabus each day. In Madrid, official exams are held regularly, which allows you to plan your preparation. With adequate dedication, one month is a reasonable time to complete the training and be ready to successfully take the exam.
What is the exam like?
The exam to obtain the title of Recreational Boat Skipper (PER) consists of 45 multiple choice questions, which must be answered in a maximum time of 1 hour and a half. To pass, a maximum of 13 errors must be made. It is important to note that an immediate failure is considered to occur if the following are made:
More than 5 errors in the Regulations.
More than 2 errors in Beaconing.
More than 2 errors in the nautical chart exercises.
