The Basic Navigation Skipper (PNB) is the second official nautical qualification after the Navigation License and the natural step towards greater independence at sea. With the PNB, you can operate larger vessels, venture further offshore, and navigate at night.

What do you need to be able to take the PNB course?
At Anclademia we make it easy for you to obtain the Basic Navigation Skipper (PNB) certificate in Barcelona, with support throughout the entire process.

PNB Exam: What You Need to Know
The PNB exam consists of 27 multiple-choice questions and is completed in 45 minutes. You have a maximum of 10 errors allowed (with limits per section: Regulations and Navigation Markings). We provide study materials and practice exams to help you feel confident taking the exam.

From the License to the PNB: the next step
If you already have the Navigation License, the PNB is the natural evolution to gain autonomy: up to 8 m, 5 miles and night navigation.

Nautical medical certificate: what it consists of and how to get it
The nautical medical certificate guarantees that the student does not suffer any limitations that are incompatible with the government of recreational boats, in a similar way to the psychotechnical exam that all drivers must pass before obtaining a driving license.
To achieve this, you must make an appointment at a Driver Recognition Center, where certain tests will be performed, especially related to visual ability and reflexes.
What is the price of GNP?
The price of the PNB title will depend on the modality you choose, you can choose between motorized PNB, PNB plus the Sailing qualification or PNB with the extension to navigate between the peninsula and Baleras, the latter being the most complete.
What is better GNP or PER?
It depends on the aspirations of the candidate: the GNP may be easier to obtain, but its powers, especially regarding maximum length and maximum distance from the coast, may be too limited. If you think that navigation is your thing and that the GNP is going to be insufficient for your needs, you can obtain the PER directly.
Where is the PNB made in Barcelona?
At the Anclademia nautical school we offer you different methods of obtaining the PNB: you can go to our facilities, in the Port Olimpic of Barcelona, to take the course in person, or you can opt for the online version, which will allow you to study for the exam at your own pace from anywhere.
How long does it take to get the GNP?
Both the official exams and the practical exams are held monthly, so, depending on the level of commitment and the time that each person can dedicate to the course, it is feasible to obtain the title in one month.
How long does it take to correct the GNP?
The PER title exam is carried out by the Generalitat and it is the organization itself that is in charge of correcting and publishing the official notes. The days after the exam, the exam correction is published, which you can verify yourself with the solutions template, although the official notes may take up to 2 weeks.
