In this article, we explain what it is, how to obtain it, and what requirements you must meet.\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the navigability certificate?<\/h2>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    It is the official document that collects the <strong>technical information of the boat<\/strong> and the <strong>mandatory safety equipment<\/strong>Its function is similar to a vehicle&#039;s technical sheet and must include the following information:\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n    <li><strong>Name and <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/anclademia.com\/en\/blog\/boat-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>tuition<\/strong> of the boat<\/a><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Vessel Identification Number (VIN)<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Technical data<\/strong>, including approval<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Propulsion type<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Navigation area<\/strong> authorized<\/li>\n    <li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/anclademia.com\/en\/blog\/itb-boats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Technical Inspection Certificate for Ships (ITB)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Generator set<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Fire and drainage systems<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Inventory of rescue, anchoring and navigation equipment<\/strong><\/li>\n    <li><strong>Radio equipment<\/strong> installed<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  \n\n  \n  <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How is it obtained?<\/h2>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    The certificate is issued by the <strong>General Directorate of the Merchant Navy<\/strong>To request it, it is necessary to complete the <strong>official form<\/strong> with the details of the boat, the owner and, where applicable, the representative.\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    Afterwards, you must go to one of the <strong>authorized collaborating entities<\/strong> \u2014available at the corresponding Maritime Captaincy\u2014 to carry out a <strong>technical inspection<\/strong> to verify that the vessel meets the established requirements. In addition, <strong>must always accompany the navigation permit<\/strong> for it to be valid.\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can the navigation area be changed?<\/h2>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    Yes, it is possible to modify the <a href=\"https:\/\/anclademia.com\/en\/blog\/navigation-zones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">navigation area<\/a> authorized, but the procedure varies depending on the year of construction of the ship.\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    For vessels built <strong>from 1998<\/strong>, with CE marking, a <strong>new certificate of conformity issued by a naval engineer<\/strong> to modify the authorized navigation zone.\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    In the case of vessels <strong>prior to 1998<\/strong>, which do not have CE marking, the change can be requested by means of a <strong>Extraordinary ABI<\/strong> or one <strong>technical report<\/strong> prepared by a naval engineer, which must include:\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n    <li>Detailed description of the boat<\/li>\n    <li>Stability and minimum freeboard study<\/li>\n    <li>Analysis of the laminate and structure<\/li>\n    <li>Maximum load capacity study<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n  \n\n  \n  <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Applicable regulations<\/h2>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    The regulation of the certificate of navigability is established in the <strong>Royal Decree 1435\/2010, of November 5<\/strong>, which details the requirements and application procedure.\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    Furthermore, in the <strong>Law 4\/2000, of December 29<\/strong>, the are collected <strong>administrative fees<\/strong> applicable to the procedure.\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n  \n  <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How much does the certificate cost?<\/h2>\n  \n\n  \n  <p>\n    Although the <strong>official rates<\/strong> are regulated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitma.gob.es\/maritimo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Ministry of Transport<\/a>, the total cost depends on the type of vessel and the inspecting entity.
